*About Artist-Researcher Dr Sunyoung Park:

Sunyoung Park's research focuses on the concept of 'placeness' in diaspora, employing the art practice of photosculpture, which combines photography and sculpture. This interdisciplinary approach plays a key role in demonstrating postcolonial nomadic subjectivity in the context of post-globalisation. Her recent publications include Photosculpture and the Politics of Nostalgia: Counter-Hegemonic Aesthetics in Contemporary Artistic Practice (forthcoming, Jan 2026) in the AusArt (ESCI, SCOPUS-indexed), The Conceptual Study of Photosculpture (2025) in the Culture & History Digital Journal (A&HCI, SSCI, SCOPUS-indexed), and What Does The Photosculpture Want? (2025) in the AM Journal of Art and Media Studies (ESCI-indexed). She has been invited to participate in various international art projects funded by organisations including the Redbase Foundation (ID, 2025), Gudskul Ekosistem (ID, 2024), and the Xi’an Art Academy (CN, 2023), to name a few.12/11/25
